Chris Fenton

Evans Funeral Chapel

Chris David Fenton

( April 24, 1952 - March 14, 2016 )

Chris Fenton passed away unexpectedly due to an accident on Sunday, March 13, 2016. Fisherman, story-teller, hiker, music-lover, cook, gardener, reader, sports-fan, traveler, movie-buff, carpenter… He was an incredible man, rich in experiences, knowledge and love. Chris was the fantastic father and best friend of his two kids, Cy and Haley. He not only taught them how to work hard and take care of themselves, he also taught them the art of telling stories and making people laugh, how to properly cook a salmon, to appreciate the changes of the seasons in the forest, and the importance of taking a break. Chris saw Cy and Haley as they are, with their inherited adventurous spirits. He supported them in their paths and was always eager to pick up the phone to hear how the journey was going. The consensus from loved ones and good friends is that Chris didn’t talk much about himself, and he didn’t talk much about anyone else, but he was always talking about his kids. He was incredibly proud of them and they look forward to continue making him proud. As formal settings weren’t Chris’s style, we will be celebrating his birthday at the house to share food, drink, and stories - his favorite. Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., Anacortes, WA and the San Juan Islands. To share memories of Chris, please sign the online guest register at

I  remeber Chris  as  a nice guy in highschool as well as being one of the more heroic male figures on the football field. His dealth makes me that much more aware that our lives are moving on. This  is a startling alert to wake up and realise that  This is It!  Rest in Peace  .Chris.

I was saddened to hear of Chris' sudden passing. I didn't keep in touch with him after high school but have fond memories of him. Chris was blessed with great looks and personality, was athletic, and was wildly popular. I transferred in to TLHS as a junior and it was a hard transition. I was well liked at Drake HS but didn't always fit in at TLHS. Chris was never to "above it all" and was always  nice to me. I'll always remember him for that. Condolences to his family. RIP Chris.
